How It Works
1. Cook Your Best Steak
Register your entry with a name, your secret creation, and a photo.
2. Tasters Vote
Guests rate each steak on taste and texture — 1 to 5 stars each.
3. Results Revealed
Rankings stay hidden until the host is ready to reveal the champion.
Cook-Off Rules
Meat
- Canadian raised beef, pork, game, or any non-meat entry
Quantity & Size
- Minimum 16 oz total prepared — no maximum
- Multiple portions allowed, but must be identical in cut and preparation (doneness may vary)
- Each portion maximum 48 oz
Preparation
- Every portion must be seared on all sides
- Slab shaped: no more than 2 inches thick
- Baseball shaped: no more than 3 inches thick
- Steaks must be sliced into bite-size pieces for tasting
Crusts & Coatings
- A crust or covering is allowed, but must be no thicker than ¼ inch
- Must not cover more than 4 sides — except a single-side covering may be up to ½ inch thick
- Crusts may not consist of meat, except bacon is permitted
Fillings & Sauce
- Anything inserted inside the steak must be smaller than ½ tsp and may not be meat
- One sauce on the side is allowed
- Sides will not be considered for judging
Judging
- Steaks are judged on flavor and texture only
- Each taster rates every steak 1–5 stars on both categories
- Results are revealed by the host — highest combined score wins!
